White Matsya Napkins

The Matsya napkin is made with finely woven handloom linen and with minimal embellishments instead focussing on the simple ornamentation of the ‘Turpai’ or hand-hemming. Turpai is a precise art, done using a thin small needle, and drawing minute, almost invisible, dense stitches that hold the fold of the fabric in place. These efforts are rendered visible by using a contrasting thread colour, that show up as tiny dots of colour.
